Recommended Wager Win……
Taking a look at the card for Wednesday it doesn’t look to enticing and the reason being is…. there is some excellent racing at the weekend ….nearly $2 million on offer on Sunday alone.
So all the half decent horses will be slated for a run in one of the weekend races.
HOWEVER in saying that and handicapping the field there is lots of value on offer. I mean LOTS and I am confident I have sourced them all for a WIN top selection in each race then BOX all three each race for EX And TRI.
Plus PLUS the big Carryover in the last race the Super HI 5 (first five home) is up for grabs.
Don’t forget 20cent min wager on all exotics PLUS 100k Guar. Pick 4 starting in Race 4.
Weather is steaming hot going to be around 75degs F come race time.
Tapeata Main Track fast….. The Turf Track you would think the hoofs would be rattling on the firm ground …. But the ground staff have done a excellent job keeping the turf course raceable.
Will have full coverage of the First Leg of The Canadian Triple Crown THE QUEENS PLATE later in the week when the post draw is done.
I will be posting a Podcast of myself and Keith MacCalmont another noted Woodbine Handicapper with our thoughts on the MASSIVE WEEKEND OF RACING.
Woodbine Post Time 6.45 pm est.
# 7 Conquest Cyclone 2/1 ….. 40k Mdn 6f on the Tapeata surface.Casse/Husbands/Conquest Stables entry. Well-bred for this track disappointed in last so drops significantly in price and conditions you have to respect connections and breeding.
# 6 Budding 5/2 ….. Was caught in the final furlong at a much higher level by a horse that will go on to win more big races.
Switches back to Tapeata and posted a sharp work on the 15th.
# 5 Jimbo Five 20/1 ….. Interesting 3yo who gets bags of weight off the ones above 6 pounds to be exact. Watch the tote have a feeling they like this guy he got excited at the gate last out if he settles its race on.
# 3 Conquest Stratergy 5/2 ….. Same connections as above going for the daily double at a route distance on the turf Msw 45k. Switches onto the green stuff for his debut on that surface which won’t be a problem Temperamental but they have been working on his starts on the turf in the morning works.
# 7 Fritzies Boy 3/1 ….. Another turf debutant with Wilson aboard who is on a bit of a roll. Bred for the turf Getting better each race dangerous.
# 8 Vintage Time 8/1 ….. He is a tough ride for sure hence the jock change to Alderson. Drops in price and comes off a nice bullit work on the turf.
# 7 Watery Moon 2/1 ….. Massive drop in price 5yo out of Malibu Moon who stands for 95k. Lightly raced over and was with Motion now in Irishman Mike Doyle’s care.
Cant see past him with this move in class.
# 6 Final Offer 5/2 ….. Jim Ensom is working wonders with all the new horses he is getting into the barn, 4yo who broke his maiden two back then tried way above his mark in Alw company. In at a reasonable level here at 10k Clm mark.
# 1 Knight Dipper 6/1 ….. Coming off a maiden win which will give this 5yo confidence likes the distance Mile 1/16th. has the rail and will use it to his advantage and hang on for a minor share.
Race 4 Start of 100k Guarranteed Pick 4.
# 2 Me More 5/2 ….. Has been running well over shorter distance than tonites Mile 1/16th. With this 3yo’s running style has been crying out for a route distance. Won’t be afraid to make the running if he jumps out the gate clear.
#8 Forest Castle 8/1 ….. Only three races in his short career all on Synthetic. Tries the turf tonite and the shades come off we will see a different horse tonight with Contreras sticking with him. This is another horse I would back at this price on the exchanges.
# 4 Roxy’s Vision 6/1 ….. Has been a difficult ride in his 4 starts….back on the turf in same class. Finally the shades go on which will guide him into the frame.
# 6 Vexatious Vixen 4/1 ….. Doesn’t get much lower in the maiden class. This gal is a debutant to racing and she gets First Time Lasix which I love as an angle in a filly. Has top Woodbine sires in her breeding was a 60k yearling in the Kentucky sales another gal to monitor on the tote board. I like to see the first show that tells you if the stable money is on.
# 3 Hats Off 3/1 ….. Drops big time in price 25k down to 8k. Top jock takes over after the debacle in the last race has found a way to get beat on several occasions no excuse tonite.
# 4 Wilderness Rush 7/2 ….. Another debutant with FTL from the McKnight barn who are banging in the winners. Respect.
# 1 Victory Cannon 5/2 ….. Only 7 runners and its an Alw 16k over 6 1/2 on Tapeata but its probably the race of the evening. This 7yo mare is as tough as they come has slowly come down the ranks to this level but has won her last two one at this level and the last race was at 30k Claiming when odds on fav. Garcia knows how to get the best out of her loves to come late but can make all.
# 2 Danger Bay 8/5 ….. Check this guy out has won last 4 straight last one at 60k OC level. Won 5 out of last 6 and 6 out of last 12 a 50% strike rate !!!
They just like winning with this 7yo. By rights should and will be backed off the boards BUT and a big BUT this is his first race this year so I am on the side of caution.
# 3 Baldur 30/1 ….. Interesting guy gearing up for a big run for his new trainer who doesn’t have many runners. However is getting 10 pounds in weight off the above two…. defiantly worth a punt.
# 1 Victory Cannon 5/2 ….. 3yo who is still looking to break his duck. Was thought to be stakes material last year but has slowly went down the Mdn ladder to 16k. Has the rail which will be a big help for him today. Note who won the stakes race he was in last year as a 2yo !!!!
# 5 Rumbleinthejungle 6/1 ….. Distance and class level should help him today won’t take much to win this or in this guy’s case get in the frame.
# 9 Kat’s Good Scout 7/2 ….. 3yo who has attracted money in last 4 starts if they can get the gate problems sorted she is in with a big chance.
Race 8 Super Hi 5 wager CARRYOVER $48,850.00
# 4 Gluten Fee 3/1 ….. Nice carryover for the first five home thats a lot of candy… 5yo maiden but the best of a bad bunch. Has showed some progress this year the move back to a route distance should help plus Campbell seems to be getting progress out of her.
# 8 Heaven’s Sake 10/1 ….. Was knocking on the door to break the Maiden last season, spirited run in his season debut can get the distance just needs strong riding gets Crawford tonite time is running out.
# Sieze The Bay 4/1 ….. Sticks at this level going a route for the first time might settle this guy down for a final furlong challenge. Was considered stakes material as a 2yo now 3yo.
Will be tweeting throughout the card …..

Saturday 24th June Woodbine Toronto Canada.
4 Winners and 3 Exacta’s kept us very interested yesterday at Woodbine in the very hot conditions forecast for Sunday 40Deg Celsius which could take its toll on runners. Check for scratches during the afternoon that’s how unbearable the conditions can be to some horses.
This week at Woodbine will be all a buzz with the lead up to the Queens Plate oldest continuous ran stakes race in North America.
More on that later in the week when the field is set.
However the winner of the Woodbine Oaks Neshama will not be participating.
Take advantage of the wagering set up at Woodbine seeded Pick 4’s, 20 cent wagers on all exotic bets. Plus a Carryover of nearly 60k in the Super Hi 5 wager in today’s last race.
